GLOSSARY
Drive-Thru
A drive-thru is a lane that lets customers be served from a window or a speaker without leaving the vehicle. In the records we hold the term covers the lane, the canopy over it, the ordering equipment and the service window.

About Drive-Thru
Drive-thru drawings show the lane width and its turning path, the menu board and speaker positions, the window, and the stacking space on site. Scope is driven by the layout of the lot and by whether the lane stacks vehicles clear of the street and the parking. Drive-thru records commonly appear with canopy, sign and restaurant headings.
FLORIDA PERMIT DATA
In the records
"drive-thru" appears in 1,368 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.
A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
