GLOSSARY
Wall Sign
A wall sign is a sign face mounted flat against a building wall, often built from channel letters or a panel. In the records we hold the term covers the sign, its attachment to the wall and the power that lights it.

About Wall Sign
The elevation shows the sign's position on the facade, its size and its mounting detail, and the drawings note the backing or blocking inside that carries the weight. Scope is driven by the sign's size and by whether it is illuminated, since a lit sign needs a circuit run from inside the building. Wall signs are recorded with facade, storefront and awning headings on the same commercial address.

"wall sign" appears in 11,495 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.
A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
