GLOSSARY
Window Replacement
Window replacement is the removal of existing windows and the installation of new units in the same openings. In the records we hold it is recorded per address, and the term covers both like-for-like swaps and upgrades to impact-rated glazing.
Detail
About Window Replacement
A replacement schedule lists each opening with its size, its glazing type and its rating, and the drawings show the wall section at the sill and head so the flashing detail is visible. Scope is usually driven by how the new unit's dimensions compare with the rough opening, and by whether the surrounding stucco or siding has to be cut back. Where an opening changes size, the framing and the header above it become part of the work.

In the records
"window replacement" appears in 207,112 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.
A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
