GLOSSARY
Stucco
Stucco is a cement-based exterior finish applied over a wall, either directly on masonry or on a lath base. In the records we hold the term covers the finish, its base, and the patching or recoating of an existing wall.

About Stucco
Elevations show where the stucco stops and starts, the control and expansion joints, and the trim or flashing at openings. Scope turns on whether the work is a patch, a recoat or a full replacement, because a full replacement exposes the weather barrier and the framing behind. Stucco is commonly recorded with siding, exterior wall and window replacement headings.

A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
