GLOSSARY
Ceiling
A ceiling is the finished overhead surface of a room, whether it is the underside of the structure above or a suspended grid. In the records we hold the term covers the ceiling surface, its framing or grid, and the lights set into it.

About Ceiling
Reflected ceiling plans show the grid or framing, the fixture layout, the access panels and the height above the finished floor. Scope is driven by whether an existing ceiling is removed and rebuilt or covered over, and by whether services above it are replaced at the same time. Ceiling records commonly appear with drywall, lighting and interior finish headings.
FLORIDA PERMIT DATA
In the records
"ceiling" appears in 8,451 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.
A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
