GLOSSARY
Drywall
Drywall is the panel product, also written as gypsum board or sheetrock, used to finish interior walls and ceilings. In the records we hold the term covers the hanging, taping and finishing of those surfaces, and their removal during a strip-out.
Detail
About Drywall
Drywall is rarely drawn on its own; it appears on the interior elevations and wall sections that set the board thickness, the fire rating where one applies, and the location of openings and backing. Scope is driven by how much wall is opened, since replacing a service line behind a finished wall means removing and reinstating the board. Ceiling and partition headings are common companions on the same record.
FLORIDA PERMIT DATA
In the records
"drywall" appears in 18,907 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.
A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
