GLOSSARY

Hotel

A hotel is a building with guest rooms let for short stays, along with the lobby, service and back-of-house space that supports them. In the records we hold the term covers new hotel buildings and work recorded against an existing one.

About Hotel

Hotel drawings show the room mix and stacking, the corridor and exit layout, the lobby and service areas, and the systems that serve the floors. Scope is driven by whether the work is a room renovation, a public-area fit-out or a change to the building, since each reaches different systems. Hotel records commonly appear with resort, alteration and swimming pool headings.

FLORIDA PERMIT DATA

In the records

"hotel" appears in 771 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.

A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
