GLOSSARY
Screen Enclosure
A screen enclosure is a framed, screened structure over a pool, patio or lanai that keeps insects out while leaving the area open to the air. In the records we hold it is also written as a pool cage or a screen room.
Detail
About Screen Enclosure
The drawings show the footing layout, the column and beam frame, the roof shape and the panel sizes, because the enclosure is designed as a light structure with its own wind load. Scope is usually driven by the footprint it spans and by whether it attaches to the house or stands free. A screen enclosure is frequently recorded with the pool, the deck and the slab it sits on.
FLORIDA PERMIT DATA
In the records
"screen enclosure" appears in 89,818 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.
A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
