GLOSSARY
Billboard
A billboard is a large outdoor advertising structure, usually on a pole or a steel frame beside a road. In the records we hold the term covers the structure, its foundation and the panel or face it carries.

About Billboard
Billboard drawings show the face size and height, the support structure, the foundation and the lighting if the sign is illuminated. Scope is driven by the size of the face and by the wind it has to resist, since both feed the structure and foundation. Billboard records commonly appear with sign, demolition and rebuild headings.
FLORIDA PERMIT DATA
In the records
"billboard" appears in 500 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.
A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
