GLOSSARY
Concrete
Concrete is the term used for poured or cast-in-place work: footings, slabs, pads, driveways, sidewalks and structural members formed on site. In the records we hold it appears both as a scope in its own right and as the base other trades build on.
Detail
About Concrete
Drawings for concrete work carry the pour plan, the reinforcement layout, the thickness and the finish. The work is classed by what it forms, whether that is a flat slab on grade, a thickened edge, a footing or a formed member such as a beam or column, because each has its own formwork and reinforcing detail. Concrete also appears as a companion term on records for pools, decks, driveways and screen enclosures.
FLORIDA PERMIT DATA
In the records
"concrete" appears in 66,170 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.
A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
