GLOSSARY
Fascia
Fascia is the flat band that closes the edge of a roof, fixed to the ends of the rafters or trusses and often carrying the gutter. In the records we hold the term covers the fascia board, its trim and the gutter attached to it.

About Fascia
Sections and elevations show the fascia depth and profile, how it meets the soffit, and where the gutter and downspout run. Scope turns on whether the fascia is repaired in place or replaced with the roof edge, since a replacement exposes the rafter ends behind it. Fascia records commonly appear with soffit, siding and sign headings.
FLORIDA PERMIT DATA
In the records
"fascia" appears in 3,004 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.
A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
