GLOSSARY
Pool Deck
A pool deck is the paved surface around a pool or spa, in concrete, pavers or stone. The records we hold treat it as a scope of its own, separate from the basin and from the pool's equipment.

About Pool Deck
The drawing shows the deck outline, the slope away from the water, the expansion joints and the coping where the deck meets the basin edge. Scope is driven by the area being paved and by whether an existing deck is removed first. Because the deck sits over the pool's plumbing and bonding, a replacement often re-exposes those runs.
FLORIDA PERMIT DATA
In the records
"pool deck" appears in 25,640 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.
A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
