GLOSSARY
Ramp
A ramp is a sloped surface that connects two levels so people or vehicles can move between them without steps. In the records we hold the term covers the ramp surface, its supporting structure and the guards or handrails beside it.

About Ramp
Ramp drawings give the slope, the width, the landings and the handrails, and they note where the ramp meets the ground and the building. Scope is driven by the height being gained and by the space available, since a gentle slope needs a longer run. Ramp records commonly appear with stair, handrail and concrete headings.
FLORIDA PERMIT DATA
In the records
"ramp" appears in 1,305 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.
A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
