GLOSSARY
Stair
A stair is a run of steps that connects one level to another, inside or outside a building. In the records we hold the term covers the treads and risers, the stringers or structure that carry them, and the guards and handrails beside them.

About Stair
Stair drawings give the rise and run of each step, the width of the flight, the landing, and the headroom and guard heights. Scope is set by the height being climbed and by the space available, since a tight plan needs a steeper or a switchback stair. Stair records commonly appear with handrail, deck and balcony headings.
FLORIDA PERMIT DATA
In the records
"stair" appears in 4,152 matching permits in the Florida records we analyzed.
A permit can match more than one term, so these counts are not additive and adding two of them together overstates the total.
